Will Farnell heads up the Financial & Management Accounting (FMA) division of MCM.  Will is an experienced and professionally qualified Chartered Certified Accountant.  Having avoided the traditional accountancy qualification route Will has been able to bring a fresh perspective to the delivery of accounting and taxation services.  Whilst it is not possible to change the nature of the services themselves the way in which they are delivered is where MCM can offer value to its clients.

Will has developed a wealth of experience in the private and public sector as well as professional practice.  Will began his career working in Industry within a small owner managed company fulfilling a range of roles from marketing, sales and promotion.  Will gained a BA degree in Business Administration and set his sights on developing a career in Management Consultancy.  During his time in Industry Will developed a unique insight into the working of small businesses and in the late 1990’s set up a small consultancy business helping owner managed business set up systems to streamline processes to generate savings and improve services.

One of Will’s early clients was a small accountancy practice and as a result of this work Will began to study for the ACCA qualification to add to his business consultancy credentials.  Having qualified Will went on to run a finance department for an Executive Agency of HM Treasury managing the organisations accounting function.  During this time Will was responsible for implementing management information systems as well as managing the day to day activity of an organisation with a £50m annual budget.

Having worked in the public sector for 4 years Will joined PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP as a public sector management consultant.  During the next three years Will worked across a number of areas of the public sector advising clients on issues including Financial Management, Procurement, Change Management and Business Process Improvement.

Will therefore brings to MCM a breadth and depth of skills in the areas of Business Management which will undoubted add significant value to its clients.
